Palestinians carry the the body of Amir Bastami, who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers, during his funeral, in the West Bank city of Nablus. 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arbic) grandmother of Amir STORYLINE: A Palestinian was early Monday killed, while seven others were injured, during an Israeli military raid in the West Bank city of Nablus, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent. A large Israeli unit raided the city, surrounded a civillian building in Sufian Street amidst intense shooting. Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Emergency and Ambulance Department, said that there were five injuries with live bullets and one with a rubber-coated steel bullet. He added that the Israeli forces detained two Palestinians after shooting them in the vicinity of the surrounded building. Jibril noted that dozens of youths suffered from suffocation due to inhaling toxic gas fired at them by the Israeli soldiers in the area. He explained that three Red Crescent volunteers are still trapped inside the surrounded building after the forces returned to the scene. With the killing of the youth, the number of Palestinians who have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of 2023 has risen to 48, including 10 children, and a 61-year-old woman, and a prisoner inside Israeli jails.
