Military medics of Tula-based Airborne Troops’ formation conduct unique operation in special military district zone STORYLINE: From the front line on the southern flank of Artyomovsk direction, a serviceman with an unexploded 30mm bullet lodged in his left leg was taken to a separate medical unit of Tula paratroopers. By sheer luck, the projectile did not detonate. To carry out this very dangerous operation, military medics had to work in protective gear under the supervision of sappers. Surgeons examined the wound in 3D projection. This allowed them to discover the nature of the soft tissue damage and the location of the bullet more precisely. The operation lasted about an hour. Military medics removed the projectile. The serviceman's life is no longer in danger. With courage and heroism military medics of the Airborne Troops risking their lives, daily carry out the most complicated operations and save lives of wounded combat comrades. Footage by / APAwire
