RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Russia- 18 August 2023. Western MD’s Msta-SM2 self-propelled howitzer crews wipe out AFU hardware and concealed fortified positions in Kupyansk direction STORYLINE: Western MD’s artillery units in the course of the special military operation continue to deliver strikes at Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) artillery batteries, defensive fortifications, firepower, ammunition depots, weaponry, and hardware, as well as suppress enemy command posts. Western MD’s Msta-SM2 self-propelled howitzer crews launch strikes at targets at ranges of several dozen kilometres. Unmanned aerial vehicles adjust artillery strikes and control target engagement. That artillery howitzer has significant constructive differences from its predecessor. Msta-SM2 modernised howitzers are outfitted with automatic fire adjustment system, which significantly increases firing rate and improves accuracy. It can also use digital electronic maps, which significantly speed up orientation on the ground in difficult physical and geographical conditions and allow to carry out firing tasks more quickly and with greater efficiency.
