STORYLINE
The Commission for Prisoners' and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club held a symposium on the second anniversary of the "Freedom Tunnel" operation, in which six prisoners were able to extract their freedom from Gilboa prison.
The symposium was attended by a number of families of the six prisoners, liberated prisoners, families of detainees in occupation prisons, and a group of national and academic figures.
During the symposium, the deputy head of the Prisoners' Club, Abdullah Al-Zaghari, read letters sent by three of the heroes of the Freedom Tunnel on the second anniversary of their wresting their freedom from Gilboa prison. They are Zakariya Al-Zubaidi, Mahmoud Al-Ardah, and Ayham Kammaji.
The Gilboa Prison break was a security event in Israel which occurred on 6 September 2021, when six Palestinian prisoners escaped from Gilboa Prison, a maximum security prison in northern Israel, through a tunnel.
