RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Gaza - 14 August 2022. Palestinians take part in a protest in solidarity with prisoner Sheikh Yousef Al-Baz on hunger strike in Israeli Jails in Gaza city. 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Member of the Prisoners' Committee in the National and Islamic Forces, Jamal Farwana 0.2 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Director of the Wa’ed Association for Prisoners, Abdullah Qandil STORYLINE: Israel’s widely condemned policy of administrative detention allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals usually ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing. Currently, Israel is holding over 680 Palestinians in administrative detention, deemed illegal by international law, most of them former prisoners who spent years in prison for their resistance of the Israeli occupation.
