STORYLINE
Israeli soldiers tonight attacked Palestinians who were protesting rise in Israeli settlers’ violence in the West Bank.
Ghassan Daghlas, an activist, said the soldiers fired tear gas canisters at the protesters who gathered in the village of Burqa, in the north of the West Bank and scene of recent violent attacks by settlers.
He said several people suffocated and required treatment.
The settlers have been attacking Palestinian villages and cars on roads under the watch of the Israeli army, which does not attempt to stop them or arrest any of them.
