STORYLINE: The Israeli authorities release the Palestinian prisoner Hamza Al-Halaiqa from the town of Al-Shuyoukh, north of Hebron, after he spent 16 years in Israeli Jails. Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said 12 other Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli prisons are currently on hunger strike also demanding their freedom and an end to their ongoing detention. Seven of the prisoners are on hunger strike for more than 20 days. Palestinian administrative detainees believe hunger strike is the only way they can win their freedom by forcing Israel to confine their detention to a specific period rather than keep renewing it for months and years.
