Palestinian writer and political analyst Talal Okal, speaks during an interview with APA agency. STORYLINE: It came after 11 days of fighting, which left at least 255 people dead. Most of those killed were Palestinians in the territory of Gaza. Israel and Hamas both claimed victory in the latest conflict. The violence in May followed a month of rising tensions in Jerusalem. But the fighting has gone on for decades. Eleven days of deadly fighting between Israel and Hamas, as well as other Palestinian armed groups based in the Gaza Strip, ended May 21 with a cease-fire. In Israel, 13 people were killed, including a soldier, by projectiles fired from Gaza, the police and army said. Footage by Ashraf Amra/APAwire
