APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Ramallah - 17 May 2021. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Ishtayeh, speaks during the weekly meeting of his government in the West Bank city of Ramallah
STORYLINE
Ishtayeh confirmed the necessity of issuing a decision by the United Nations that all measures of the Israeli occupation state against Palestinian lands and people are illegal.
Deadly violence erupted across the West Bank amid a massive aerial bombardment in Gaza and unprecedented unrest among Arabs and Jews inside the country. The West Bank clashes, described as among the most intense since the second intifada that began in 2000, left 11 people dead from Israeli fire, the Palestinian health ministry said, as overall fatalities from strikes on Gaza rose to 197.
At least 198 people in the besieged Palestinian enclave were killed, including 58 children and 35 women.
